
Cardinals Add UCLA Transfer Outside Hitter Charitie Luper to Roster

Luper set to join the Cards this spring
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville volleyball team has added Charitie Luper, a sophomore outside hitter from UCLA, to the roster.

Last year, Luper led the Bruins with 3.28 kills per set and ranked second on the team with a .242 hitting percentage. The All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention and AVCA Pacific South All-Region Honorable Mention Honoree totaled 256 kills and 184 digs in 21 matches and 78 sets played. Luper recorded nine double-doubles and reached double-digit kills in 15 of her 21 matches last fall.

In her freshman debut, the Dallas, Texas native was ranked second on the team with 227 kills hitting .289 and averaged 3.39 kills per set. Playing in 18 matches, Luper brought in four Pac-12 Freshman of the Week awards for the most weekly conference accolades by a Bruin in a single season since 2014.

Luper was a high school standout finishing her career with over 1,500 kills and 1,500 digs. The Under Armour All-American First Team and AVCA All-Region honoree helped Byron Nelson High School to its first State title in school history while earning Most Valuable Player honors in the championship match. Luper was also named the Most Valuable Player at Nationals her 15sa year when her club, Texas Advantage Volleyball, won the title.
