Knapczyk Earns D1 Baseball Preseason All-America Honors

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Louisville infielder Christian Knapczyk was named a preseason All-American as D1Baseball released its teams this week.
Knapczyk was a second team selection joining Jack Payton, who garnered preseason All-America status from Baseball America and Collegiate Baseball Newspaper.
Knapczyk was the spark plug atop the Louisville lineup that was among the best in the country in 2022. The junior hit .346 with 17 stolen bases and a team-high 72 runs scored.
The Plainfield, Ill., native is a two-time All-ACC selection and ranked second in the ACC in runs scored and fourth in on-base percentage last spring, while ranking fourth nationally in runs per game.
Louisville begins the 2023 season on Feb. 17 with a three-game series against Bucknell at Jim Patterson Stadium.
