The Louisville men's track and field team was ranked 18th in the first installment of the USTFCCCA's Indoor Track & Field National Rating Index that was released on Monday. The Cardinals will welcome 22 other programs this weekend, including Virginia Tech's No. 8 women's squad and Michigan's No. 24 men's team.
Louisville returns to competition after seeing a pair of school records fall at the Cardinal Classic on Jan. 13-14. Synclair Savage set a new school-best mark in the women's long jump with a leap of 6.44m (21-1.5) on the first day of competition, while Cameron Miller's 200m record time of 20.77 defined the second day and gave him his second school record in as many meets as a Cardinal.
Other notable performances included Trey Allen building off his nation-leading high jump mark to claim victory in the men's high jump, combining with Brion Stephens and Luke Nichols to sweep the top three spots.
The Cardinals also saw Zoe Yeast and Alba Cuns Iglesias pick up the first wins of their collegiate careers in the women's weight throw and women's triple jump, respectively, while Aliyah Welter won the women's pole vault for the second consecutive meet.
