LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Transfer Maria Campos made her dual match debut as a Cardinal by clinching the University of Louisville women's tennis team's season-opening match with a 4-3 win over Northern Illinois.

The Cardinals took the doubles point when Rhea Verma and Sasha Gorchanyuk combined forces at No. 2 to beat Nataly Miroslavova Ninova 6-3. Andrea DiPalma and Maria Campos took the No. 3 slot with a 6-3 win over NIU's Jenna Horne and Isabella Righi.

Taking the 1-0 lead into singles, UofL newcomer Jamilah Snells pushed the Cards to 2-0 with a decisive 6-2, 6-2 win over Diana Lukyanova. Andrea DiPalma beat NIU's Anastasia Rakita 6-3, 6-3 at No. 1 and then Maria Campos clinched the match with a win at No. 4 with a 4-6, 6-1, 6-3 comeback victory over Reagan Welch.

The match was the first of a doubleheader slated for today. The Cardinals will face crosstown rival
