
Louisville Men's Tennis 2023 Schedule Released

The slate features matchups with nine opponents ranked in the ITA preseason top 25
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville men's tennis coach Rodrigo da Silva announced the 2023 spring schedule. The slate features matchups with nine opponents ranked in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's (ITA) preseason top 25, three of which are inside the top 10. The Cardinals will also face 12 NCAA tournament teams from a year ago, including national champion Virginia and runner-up Kentucky.
The Cards open the spring season with four consecutive home matches, hosting both Bellarmine and UIC on Jan. 18, followed by Northwestern and Eastern Kentucky on Jan 22.
Louisville will then head to Athens, Ga. for the ITA Kickoff weekend, matching up against Miami (FL) on Jan. 29, then either No. 7 Georgia or LSU on Jan. 30.
Following the tournament, UofL will return home for eight of its next nine matches. The stretch will begin with in-state rival and national runner-up, Kentucky on Feb. 10. The only away match in the stretch will come on Feb. 17 as the team will head to Bloomington, Ind. to take on the Hoosiers.
Conference play will begin on March 3 as Louisville is set to host No. 20 Duke at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center. UofL will wrap up the early home stint by hosting Virginia Tech on March 12.
Louisville will then head south on a four-match road stretch starting in Tallahassee, Fla. to take on No. 16 Florida State before a second matchup with the Hurricanes in Coral Gables, Fla. The Cards will conclude the road trip to North Carolina taking on a pair of top-25 opponents, No. 14 Wake Forest on March 24 and No. 19 NC State on Mach 26.
The Cards will return home to face a pair of conference foes, hosting Notre Dame on March 29 and Boston College on March 31.
Louisville will then face No. 5 Michigan, Georgia Tech, and Clemson all on the road.
The regular season will conclude by hosting No. 25 Middle Tennessee on April 16 at 1 p.m.
The ACC tournament will take place April 19-23 in Cary, N.C.

Sophomore Natan Rodrigues comes in at No. 25 marking the first top 25 showing by a Cardinal since 2014-15. Graduate student Fabien Salle enters at No. 36, while senior Etienne Donnet is No.42. Senior Matthew Fung rounds out the ranked Cardinals at No. 61.
Louisville also had two pairs slotted in the ITA top 60 doubles rankings. Salle and Rodrigues launched into the top 10 at No. 9 after appearing at No. 48 in the preseason polls. David Mizrahi and Will Mayew secured the No. 58 spot after a strong showing in the fall season.
The Cardinals posted a 19-9 overall record in the 2021-22 season while finishing 9-3 in ACC play. Louisville was able to reach its first ACC semifinal since joining the conference in 2014-2015 and made the program's 13th NCAA tournament appearance.
The Cards return six letter winners from a season ago, including Donnet who was an All-ACC first-team selection playing a majority of the season at the No. 1 spot.
