Cross Country Participates in Fall Sports Media Day

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Louisville head cross country/track and field coach Dale Cowper and student-athletes Lexie Paskiewicz and Ethan Meyer met with local media to preview the season Wednesday at UofL's annual Fall Sports Media Day.
"When you really look at our cross country roster this season, what you're going to see is a huge change from last year," said Cowper. "Over 50 percent of our team is new this year. As we go through the season, we are excited to have newcomers and new faces – underclassmen and upperclassmen – as well as a new schedule. We open up with a race in Boone, North Carolina against Appalachian State and about 13 other teams – that's going to be a new experience for our group – as well as later in our season we're going to go to Bradley for a mid-October competition. And then we'll have the staple – the Live in Lou Classic here at E.P. Tom Sawyer Park in October."
"We're really excited about the group of student-athletes that have joined us, and certainly the preparation that Coach (Eric) Heins and Coach (Andrew) Carlson have put in to set up our sport-specific training capabilities – we're certainly blessed to have one of the best coaching staffs in the country here on campus."
