Cards Will Travel to Georgia for ITA Kick-Off Weekend

After a successful 2022 season, the University of Louisville men's tennis program is looking ahead to next year, securing part of its 2022-23 schedule with the recent Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Kickoff Weekend draft complete.
The 26th-ranked Cardinals will travel Athens, Ga., to face No. 30 Miami in the first round of the event which takes place January 29-30. Host, 11th-ranked Georgia will square off with No. 33 LSU in the other first-round match. The winners will meet to determine which team advances to ITA National Indoor Championships. About the ITA Kick-Off Weekend
The field was decided via the ITA Men's Kickoff Weekend Draft which took place on June 15. Selection order was based on year-end finish, starting with the No. 16 ranked team and running until all of the spots were filled. The 15 host sites were predetermined based on 2022 year-end rankings.
About Louisville Men's Tennis
The Cardinals achieved impressive results on the court in the 2021-22 campaign, finishing the season with an 19-9 overall record and an at-large berth in the NCAA tournament. Louisville reached the semifinals of the ACC Championship for the first time in program history after earning the No. 4 seed with a program-best nine wins in conference play.
The Cards returned to the NCAA tournament for the first time since the 2017 season and were one of the best home teams in the ACC, posting a 12-1 record at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center. As a team, the Cardinals appeared in the ITA team rankings 11 times, with a season-high ranking of 23.
