
Carmyn Greenwood, Kendall Smith Earn CoSIDA Academic All-District Honors

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville's Carmyn Greenwood and Kendall Smith have been named to the College Sports Information Directors of America Academic All-District team. They will advance to the ballot for CoSIDA Academic All-America® honors which will be announced in June.

To be nominated for Academic All-America® consideration, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.30 on a scale of 4.00 and have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at his/her current institution.

Greenwood, a graduate senior from Birmingham, Ala., earned her degree in marketing in 2021 and elected to return to UofL for her final season of eligibility while pursuing her franchise management certificate. The left fielder is a two-time All-ACC selection, most recently earning first team honors this season after leading the team with a .400 batting average and standing first in the ACC with 70 hits, 54 runs, while ranking second with 52 RBIs. Greenwood also paces the team with 18 doubles and 23 multi-hit games. She was named ACC Player of the Week on May 2.
• The 2021 National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) first team selection was named to the 2021 All-ACC Academic Team, was an NFCA Scholar Athlete (2021) and was named to the ACC Academic honor roll twice.

Smith, (Bowling Green, Ky.), is a graduate transfer from Western Kentucky where she earned her undergraduate degree in Sport Management in 2021. She elected to complete her collegiate eligibility at Louisville while pursuing her master's degree in sport administration. This season, she stands second on the team with a .309 batting average and third with 40 RBIs and nine home runs. Additionally, she leads the ACC with 15 runners caught stealing.
• Smith was a 2019 NFCA All-Mideast Region selection and a two-time All-Conference USA team honoree (2019, 2021). The two-time Senior CLASS Award Top 30 candidate and an NFCA All-America Scholar Athlete.
