
Gabriela Leon's School Record Highlights Texas Relays

AUSTIN, Texas – Gabriela Leon set the women's outdoor pole vault school record with a fifth-place height of 4.55m (14-11) as the University of Louisville track and field team closed out action at the Texas Relays in Austin, Texas Saturday.

Leon achieved the mark on her second attempt at the bar in the women's elite section, surpassing a previous personal-best and school-record of 4.28m (14-.5) set at the 2021 Clark Wood Invitational. The height is the tied for the 15th best performers mark in the NCAA all-time history.

On Friday, Jeremiah Willis and Grigoris Nikolaou won their respective events. Willis recorded a mark of 7.60m (24-11.25) on his fourth attempt to take section B of the men's long jump, while Grigoris Nikolaou cleared 15.46m (50-8.75) to win section B of the men's triple jump.

Trey Allen finished sixth in the section A of the men's high jump Saturday with a height of 2.18m (7-1.75), while Luke Nichols finished 10th in section B of the event Friday with a clearance of 2.10m (6-10.75).

Sterling Warner-Savage finished with a time of 10.35 seconds to place 13th in the elite section of the men's 100-meter preliminaries, while Isiah Pantiere took his heat in the university/college section of the event with a time of 10.56.

Louisville will be back in action at the Tennessee Relays from April 7-9 in Knoxville, Tenn.
