ACC Swimming and Diving Championship Live Recaps for Day 2

ATLANTA -- The No. 7/10 University of Louisville swimming and diving team are set to compete on Day 2 of the 2022 ACC Championships at the McAuley Aquatics Center.

Women's 500 FreestyleÂ
In heat 3 of the 500 freestyle, Paige McCormick finished second with a 4:48.59, shaving almost five seconds off her entry time and making the B-final. In heat 5, Madison Luther touched fifth with a time of 4:50.05 to make the C-final. In the final heat of the 500 free, Liberty Williams put up the fastest time in the field with a 4:40.53 to make the A-final.  Polina Nevmovenko touched seventh in Heat 6 with a time of 4:53.00.

Men's 500 FreestyleÂ
In the men's 500 free, veteran Hayden Curley put up the fastest time for the Cardinals with a 4:17.68 to make the B-Final. Denis Loktev hit the wall in 4:19.79 and will join Curley in the B-Final. Murilo Sartori boarded a 4:21.18 and Eli Shoyat went 4:22.45 to make the C-Final. Gustavo Saldo posted a 4:26.04 in his heat.

Women's 200 IMÂ
In the 200-IM, Abby Hay put up the fastest time for the Cards with a 1:55.19 and made the A-Final seeded third. Tristen Ulett boarded a 1:57.24 and will be in the B-Final and seeded 12th overall. Diana Dunn went 1:59.64 and won her heat and will swim in the C-Final with Mariia Astashkina, who put up a time of 1:59.39. Morgan Friesen swam a 2:03.88 and Adeline Farrington swam 2:04.90 in their respective heats.

Men's 200 IM
In the men's 200 IM, Daniel Sos put up the fastest time for the Cardinals with a 1:43.45 to make the A-Final. Evgenii Somov posted a 1:44.51 and Colton Paulson went 1:44.78 to make the B-Final. Jack Wever stopped the clock at 1:47.50 in his heat.

Women's 50 Freestyle
Gabi Albiero threw down a 21.78 to make the A-Final in the 50 freestyle. Christiana Regenauer went 22.28 and Arina Openysheva put up a 22.37 to make the B-Final. Kaylee Wheeler swam a 23.26 in her heat.

Men's 50 Freestyle  Â
Abdelrahman El-Araby will be seeded third in tonight's A-final after setting a school record in prelims of 19.04. Dalton Lowe posted a 19.34 just ahead of teammate Michael Eastman, who went 19.47 with that pair earning a second swim, heading to the B-Final this evening. Vlad Dubinin checked in a 19.66 and will swim in the C-final.Â

Men's 1M Diving  Â
Cardinal diver Che Stephens advanced to the 1M Finals with a preliminary score of 328.45 after six dives. Kivanc Gur finished 10th with a 305.20, Adam Sneden was 20th with a score of 280.85 and Daniel Pinto was 25th with a mark of 264.25.
