November 21, 2022 | Football
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Louisville placekicker James Turner was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Co-Specialist of the Week, the league announced Monday.
Turner equaled a school record by kicking four field goals in Louisville's 25-10 win over NC State on Saturday.
The native of Saline, Mich., became the first UofL kicker to boot four field goals in a game twice during a career as he also made four at home in a loss to Virginia last season.
The junior became the fifth kicker in school history to kick four field goals in a game, joining Art Carmody, Chris Philpott, Nate Smith and Blanton Creque.
Turner has connected on 19-of-21 field goals this season, two shy of tying the school mark for field goals in a season.
The Cards close the regular season Saturday with a 3 p.m. kickoff at Kentucky.
