LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Louisville men's cross country freshman Ian Kibiwot was named to the All-ACC Academic Team, as announced by the league office Wednesday.
The Eldoret, Kenya native finished as the Cardinals' top scorer in all five meets. Kibiwot recorded the first of two top-five finishes in his collegiate debut with an individual win at the Tennessee Dual meet to become the program's first cross country athlete to earn ACC Men's Freshman Performer of the Week honors since Isaac Kiprop in 2019. The geoscience major was also named to the Athletic Director's Honor Roll in the fall.
Minimum academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one's academic career. Athletic achievements during the most recent season are also considered in selecting the All-ACC Academic Team.
The ACC Honor Roll, which recognizes all conference student-athletes with a grade point average of 3.0 for the current academic year, will be released in July.
