Gabi Albiero Named ACC Swimmer of the Week

Sophomore led UofL to upset of Indiana
University of Louisville sophomore Gabi Albiero has been named ACC Women's Swimmer of the Week.Â
Albiero captured two individual events and was part of the winning 400 freestyle and 200 medley relay teams in No. 15 Louisville's 182-118 victory against No. 10 Indiana. The sophomore from Louisville, Kentucky, won the 50 freestyle (22.25) and also beat the field by a full second in the 100 butterfly (51.63), recording NCAA B cuts in each race. She was part of the 400 freestyle relay team that won in an A-cut time of 3:14.26 and 200 medley relay which touched first in a season-best 1:36.72.

O'Meara won both springboard events in the Blue Devils' dual against No. 5 NC State. The freshman from St. Louis, Missouri, remained undefeated on the 3-meter springboard through five competitions this season, placing first out of seven divers with a score of 340.65. She also won the 1-meter event with a score of 325.35.
