Western Kentucky’s goal in the 12th minute proved to be the difference as Louisville fell 1-0 at Lynn Stadium on Sunday night.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Western Kentucky's goal in the 12th minute proved to be the difference as University of Louisville women's soccer fell 1-0 at Lynn Stadium on Sunday night.

With the loss, Louisville falls to 4-1 on the season, while WKU improves to 4-0.

Western Kentucky got on the board in the 12th minute when Katie Erwin got behind the Louisville defense. Her shot ricocheted off the cross bar, which immediately found Lily Rummo, who sent the ball into the net.

The Cardinals outshot the Hilltoppers 16-7 and both teams had five shots on goal.

Louisville's best chance came in the 67th minute when Savina Zamborini sent a shot into the box, but WKU goalkeeper Alexis Bach made a diving stop.

Gabby Kouzelos finished with four saves for the Cardinals, while Bach had five saves for Western Kentucky.

Louisville returns to action this Friday at 5 p.m. ET when they host Michigan.
