
Elena Scott Named ACC Freshman of the Week

The Louisville native plays libero for the Cardinals
LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Louisville's Elena Scott and NC State's Jada Allen have been selected as the ACC Co-Freshmen of the Week and Pitt right side hitter Chinaza Ndee has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Volleyball Player of the Week.

A rookie from Louisville, Kentucky, Scott played a key role in the Cardinals' 2-0 weekend, which was highlighted by a sweep of No. 6 Purdue. The libero's passing helped Louisville hit .328 across the two matches, and her team-high 16 digs against Purdue were key in the upset. Scott recorded 29 total digs, five assists and two kills across the two matches.

A middle blocker from Fishers, Indiana, Allen shined in NC State's three wins last weekend. The newcomer's performance was highlighted by a 17-kill, four-block effort against host Rutgers in which she hit at a .500 clip. Allen totaled 33 kills, nine blocks, five digs and two aces across the three matches.
Ndee helped the Panthers go 3-0 at the Panther Challenge, including a 3-1 win over No. 12 BYU in which Pitt handed the Cougars their first loss of the season. The senior from Houston, Texas, totaled 39 kills over three matches. Ndee recorded a season-best 17 kills against the 12th-ranked Cougars on .359 hitting and posted a .500 hitting percentage against High Point with 12 kills to open the tournament. She led Pitt across the three matches with 3.90 kills per set while hitting .367 and averaged 0.50 blocks per frame.
