
Blalock Twins Announce Return for Final Season

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Louisville women's lacrosse seniors Caroline and Sarah Blalock announced they will return to compete for the Cardinals the upcoming 2022 season, utilizing an NCAA extra year of eligibility.
"I am honored to announce that I will be returning to the University of Louisville for the 2022 lacrosse season," said Sarah. "I am very grateful to continue representing Louisville for one more year and to have the opportunity to play with this team again. I want to thank everyone who has supported me in this journey playing for Louisville the past four years. To all my teammates, both former and current, family, friends and coaches, I appreciate all of you. Go Cards!"

Hailing from Ellicott City, Md., the Blalock sisters recently completed their fourth season at UofL while finishing their undergraduate degrees. Caroline earned bachelor's degrees in marketing and sport administration, while Sarah received a bachelor's degree in sustainability. Sarah is now working towards a master's in sustainability, while Caroline is working toward her MBA.
Last season, Sarah was named to the IWLCA All-Region Second Team after starting all 16 games. She recorded 12 ground balls and 10 caused turnovers and was regarded as one of the best lockdown defenders in the country, often responsible for face guarding opponent's best offensive threats.
In 2021, Caroline was also named to the IWLCA All-Region Second Team and additionally earned All-ACC Second Team honors. She led the Cardinals with 11 assists, 32 ground balls, 39 draw controls and 21 caused turnovers and was second on the team with 30 goals and 41 points.
