August 11, 2021 | Cross Country
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Louisville track and field/cross country head coach Dale Cowper has announced the 2021 cross country schedule.
The men's and women's programs will share the same competition schedule this fall with three regular season meets before the start of postseason competition.
"Our students and staff are excited to return to the course this fall with a traditional slate of meets," said Cowper. "The Tennessee Dual will provide an opportunity to fully evaluate each team as they return from summer training. We wll follow that weekend with an expanded training phase to prepare for the competitive fields at the Live in Lou Classic and Arturo Barrios Invitational in October."
Louisville opens the season on Sept. 3 when the program travels to the Tennessee Dual in Knoxville, Tenn. Following a month-long training phase, the Cardinals remain home for the annual Live in Lou Classic, hosted by the Greater Louisville Sport Commission on Oct. 2. This year's meet is scheduled to take place at E.P. Tom Sawyer Park, which has served as a three-time host site of the NCAA Championships.
Louisville closes out the regular season on Oct. 16 with its first ever appearance at Texas A&M's Arturo Barrios Invitational in College Station, Texas. The meet will serve as the final tune-up before the ACC Championships, which will be held on Oct. 29 at the Notre Dame Golf Course in South Bend, Ind.
Following the conference, Louisville will compete at the NCAA Southeast Regionals, which are set to be ran at Masterson Station Park in Lexington, Ky on Nov. 12. All qualifiers will compete at the NCAA Championships on Nov. 20 at the Apalachee Regional Park in Tallahassee, Fla.
