Cards Place 399 Student-Athletes on the ACC Honor Roll

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville placed 399 student-athletes on the 65th annual Atlantic Coast Conference Honor Roll for the 2020-21 academic year, the league announced on Tuesday.

The honor roll is comprised of student-athletes who participated in a varsity level sport and recorded a grade point average of 3.0 or better for the full academic year. The conference recognized a record 5,791 student-athletes for their excellent work in the classroom.

The Cardinals' 399 honorees ranked as the seventh-highest total among any school in the league. Louisville had 413 student-athletes recognized a year ago.
Duke led all schools with a record 615 student-athletes recognized, and Notre Dame placed 593 on the list. Virginia saw 493 student-athletes achieve Honor Roll status, followed by North Carolina with 463, Boston College with 451 and NC State with 411.

Louisville's Christian Buckley (track & field) was named to the Honor Roll for the sixth time during his career.

Overall, UofL sports teams achieved an impressive 3.256 combined grade point average for the 2020-21 academic year, including a 3.289 GPA for the 2021 Spring semester. Twenty of 23 sports programs were above a 3.0 collective GPA for the 2021 Spring semester. A total of 360 student-athletes were 2020 Red and Black Scholars, representing a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or better.

UofL student-athletes matched a record 91 percent graduation rate in the latest Graduation Success Rate (GSR) Report, which was developed 16 years ago to account for transfers into the university who graduate and those who leave in good academic standing. The Cardinals' GSR, most recently reported for freshmen who entered in the 2013-14 academic year, has risen 25 percent since the reporting began 16 years ago.
