
Lacrosse Places Program Best Seven Players on All-ACC Academic Team

Caroline Blalock, Allegra Catalano, Rachel Florek, Ally Hall, Bella Karstien, Alex McNicholas and Paige Richbourg were named to the All-ACC Women's Lacrosse Academic Team.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Atlantic Coast Conference announced today that University of Louisville women's lacrosse's Caroline Blalock, Allegra Catalano, Rachel Florek, Ally Hall, Bella Karstien, Alex McNicholas and Paige Richbourg were named to the All-ACC Women's Lacrosse Academic Team.

The seven student-athletes are the most that Louisville has ever placed on the All-ACC Academic Team.
To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.0 grade-point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one's academic career. Athletic achievements during the most recent season are also considered in selecting the All-ACC Academic Team.

Blalock is now a three-time All-ACC Academic Team honoree. She graduated in the spring with degrees in marketing and sport administration. She had a 3.857 grade point average last semester and a career 3.833 GPA. She was named to Dean's List in Fall 2020 and spring 2021, Red and Black Scholar in Fall 2020 and to the AD Honor Roll in Fall 2020 and Spring 2021.

She was named IWLCA All-Region Second Team, All-ACC Second Team, Tewaaraton Award Watch List, ILWomen Midseason Second Team All-American and received votes for the ILWomen Midseason Breakthrough Player of the Year.

Blalock started all 16 games and led the team with 11 assists, 32 ground balls, 39 draw controls and 21 caused turnovers. She ranked third in the ACC with a .647 free position percentage, fourth with 0.69 free positions per game, sixth with 1.31 caused turnovers per game and seventh with 2.0 ground balls per game. Her 106 career goals are tied for ninth all-time in UofL program history, while she ranks second all-time in UofL history in caused turnovers (77), fourth in ground balls (127), fifth in assists (38) and sixth in draw controls (104).

Catalano finished with a perfect 4.00 GPA this spring and has a 3.955 career GPA. She was named Dean's Scholar in Fall 2020 and Spring 2021, Red and Black Scholar in Fall 2020 and AD Honor Roll in Fall 2020 and Spring 2021.

She played in all 16 games with 13 starts, ranking fourth on the team with 11 goals and finishing the season with two assists, 13 points, 48 shots, five ground balls, three caused turnovers and one draw control.

Florek graduated with a master's degree in human resources this spring after compiling a perfect 4.0 for the semester. She had a 3.481 GPA as an undergraduate and has a cumulative 3.777 GPA in graduate school. She named to Dean's List in Fall 2020, Red and Black Scholar in Fall 2020, Dean's Scholar in Spring 2021 and AD Honor Roll in Fall 2020 and Spring 2021.

She started all 16 games, recording 140 saves, which ranked second in the ACC and eighth in the NCAA at conclusion of regular season. It also marked the fifth most in UofL single season history. Her 8.75 saves per game ranked second in the league, while her .413 save percentage ranked sixth.

Her 348 career saves are the most in UofL history, while her .426 career save percentage ranks third all-time in UofL history.

Hall earns All-ACC Academic honors for the second time in her career. She graduated this spring with a degree in marketing after compiling a 3.75 GPA for the semester and has a 3.80 cumulative GPA. She was named to Dean's List in Fall 2020 and Spring 2021, Red and Black Scholar in Fall 2020 and AD Honor Roll in Fall 2020 and Spring 2021.

She started all 16 games, leading the team with 35 goals and 45 points, while ranking second with 10 assists. She ranked 10th in the ACC with 35 goals and 13th with 45 points. She did not score in the season opener against Florida, but finished with a 15-game scoring streak. During that 15-game stretch, she had 10 multi-goal games.

With two goals against North Carolina in the ACC Tournament, she reached 100 career goals, becoming the 11th player in UofL program history to do so.

Karstien has a perfect 4.0 cumulative GPA and was named Dean's Scholar in Fall 2020 and Spring 2021, Red and Black Scholar in Fall 2020 and AD Honor Roll in Fall 2020 and Spring 2021.

She was named to the All-ACC Freshman Team after playing in 15 games with eight starts. She finished the season with 10 goals, three assists, 13 points, 22 shots, .682 SOG%, six ground balls, eight draw controls and one caused turnover.

McNicholas graduated this spring with a degree in economics and had a 3.666 GPA for the semester. She has a 3.682 cumulative GPA and was named Red and Black Scholar in Fall 2020, Dean's List in Spring 2021 and AD Honor Roll in Fall 2020 and Spring 2021.

She played in all 16 games with nine starts, tying for the team lead with 21 caused turnovers, while ranking second with 10 assists and 37 draw controls. She added nine goals, 19 points and 21 ground balls. Her 175 career draw controls rank third all-time in UofL history.

Richbourg had a perfect 4.00 GPA this semester and has a 3.942 cumulative GPA. She was named Dean's List in Fall 2020, Red and Black Scholar in Fall 2020, Dean's Scholar in Spring 2021 and AD Honor Roll in Fall 2020 and Spring 2021.
