Cardinals Complete Competition on Day 2 of Wave II of the Olympic Trials

Cardinal Forever Kelsi Dahlia touches fourth in the 100M Fly
The University of Louisville swimming team sent one finalist to the blocks on the second day of racing at the US Olympic Swim trials at the CHI Health Center pool in Omaha, Â Â

Cardinal Forever Kelsi Worrell posted a 56.80 in the finals of the 100-meter butterfly to touch fourth. Torri Huske put up a 55.66 in the finals for the win which was .12 under her American and U.S. Open Record of 55.78 set last night which makes her the third-fastest performer in history.

Nick Albiero's 54.21 in the prelims of the 100M backstroke earned him a berth in the semifinals at the US Olympic Trials, however he scratched the semis with his signature 200 fly event on tap tomorrow morning. Â Also, in the 100M backstroke prelims, Mitchell Whyte turned in a 55.38 in his prelim and Jack Wever clocked in a 55.84 in his heat.

On the women's side, Tristen Ulett posting a time of 1:02 with teammate Paige Hetrick putting up a 1:02.22 in her prelim swim in the 100M backstroke.

Kaylee Wheeler touched second in her prelim heat of the 100M breaststroke and Adeline Farrington stopped the clock at 1:09.96. Teammate Morgan Friesen posted a time of 1:12.14 in her prelim heat.

In the 200M freestyle, Louisville's Colton Paulson put up a time of 1:51.01 in the 200M Freestyle.

The Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games are scheduled for Friday July 23, 2021 – Sunday August 8, 2021 in Tokyo, Japan.
