Cardinals Set For Tennessee Relays

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville track and field teams will travel to Knoxville, Tenn., for the Tennessee Relays which will take place April 8-10 at Tennessee's Tom Black Track at LaPorte Stadium.
"The Tennessee Relays looks like a very strong competition across all event areas," said UofL head coach Dale Cowper. "We may need to dodge some thunderstorms Saturday but Thursday and Friday look like a great opportunity for our students to take another step forward."
The Cardinals have 52 athletes competing between the men's and women's squads with entries in 32 events starting with Thursday's men's Decathlon at 11:10 a.m.

The Cardinals are coming off of an impressive weekend, totaling 15 wins in their home-opening Louisville Track and Field Invitational.
• Junior Gabriela Leon tied a school record in the pole vault with a mark of 4.27m (14-0), earning ACC Field Performer of the Week honors for her efforts.
• Sean Roth's vault of 5.12m (16-09.5) set a school outdoor record as he finished second in the event.

• Louisville has placed four athletes among the top 20 in the nation in their respective events:
• Gabriela Leon stands seventh in the pole vault after a clearance of 4.27m (14-0) at the Louisville Invitational
• Trey Allen is 12th with a high jump mark of 2.17m (7-1.5) achieved at the Louisville Invitational
• Adar Sheere's discus throw of 56.92m (186-9) at the Louisville Invitational stands 16th in the NCAA
• Aliyah Welter is 17th in the pole vault with her mark of 4.17m (13-8.25) which stood second at the Louisville Invitational.
