Cards are back on the water on Sunday morning

The Louisville Rowing team took to the water Saturday for the first day of the Big Ten Invitational in which they competed against some of the best rowing teams across the country in Bethel, Ohio on Harsha Lake.

The Cardinals' top four boats all competed twice in the morning and then the afternoon as a part of the competition. In the morning, three of the four boats (V8+, 4V+ and 2V4+) finished in third place in fields of four. The V8+ boat finished with a time of 6:53.706, the 4V+ boat finished in 7:40.270 and the 2V4+ boat finished in 8:11.211. The 2V8+ crew finished fourth in 7:07.186

During the afternoon session of races, the Cardinals' V4+ boat earned a second-place finish ahead of Minnesota and behind Indiana with a time of 7:38.994. The rest of Louisville's boats finished in third, with the V8+ finishing in 6:51.811, the 2V8+ finishing in 7:04.194 and the 2V4+ finishing in 8:23.605.

Louisville will continue and ultimately conclude competition at the Big Ten Invitational Sunday as each of their boats compete one more time. The V8+ will compete at 9:30 a.m., followed by the 2V8+ at 9:40 a.m., the V4+ at 9:50 a.m. and finally the 2V4+ at 11:55 a.m.
