Whisenand Named to ACC Preseason Watch List

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The University of Louisville's Macy Whisenand has been named to the 2026 Preseason ACC Rowing Watch List as announced by the league office Wednesday.
The Whitefish, Mont., native joined the Cardinals first as a novice in her freshman year in 2022. She has been a staple for UofL over the last four years, rowing in the ACC Championship in each of her three complete seasons.
Already this season, Whisenand raced on the winning Open 8+ and Collegiate 4+ boats at the Music City Head Race in the fall.
In her junior season, Whisenand competed in all six regular season events for Louisville in addition to the ACC Championship. She was part of crews that won the Varsity 8 at Music City, Head of the Hooch and the SIRA Championship Regatta. As a sophomore, she helped the V8 boat at the Oak Ridge Cardinal Invitational finish first and did so again in the A final at the SIRA Championship a few weeks later.
Out of the water, Whisenand has also had a consistent presence on the All-ACC Academic Rowing Team and ACC Academic Honor Roll in her time in The Ville.
The Cardinals open the 2026 season by hosting the 14th Annual Oak Ridge Cardinal Invitational March 14-15.
