Cardinals in ITA Singles and Doubles Rankings

Louisville, Ky. – Three University of Louisville men's tennis team players have entered the latest International Tennis Association rankings released on March 24. Sergio Hernandez is ranked in singles while Fabien Salle and Matthew Fung appear in the national doubles rankings.
In singles, junior Sergio Hernandez sits at No. 63 in the rankings. Hernandez leads the team in singles, holding an 8-3 overall record in dual match play. He is currently 1-1 on the year when playing ranked opponents, defeating Kentucky's No. 123 Joshua Lapadat 6-4, 6-4 on Feb. 14.
In doubles, junior Fabien Salle and sophomore Matthew Fung enter the rankings at No. 70. The Cardinals duo hold a 6-6 overall record in dual match play. Salle and Fung started the 2021 campaign off hot, winning their first three matches of the season. Their biggest win coming against No. 19 Kentucky on Feb. 14, where they defeated Cesar Bourgois and Gabriel Diallo 6-3 to help Louisville earn the doubles point in the match.
The Louisville men's tennis team in back in action this afternoon as they face the Butler Bulldogs at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center at 5 p.m.
