Allen, Beery Lead Cardinals on Final Day of Tiger Track Classic

AUBURN, Ala. –The University of Louisville's Trey Allen placed third in the high jump to lead the men and Bailey Beery paced the women with a third place showing in the 3000m on the final day of Auburn's Tiger Track Classic Saturday at Hutsell-Rosen Track.
"It was a great opportunity for a small portion of each team to open up the outdoor season at Auburn this weekend. Especially the super seniors - Christian, Gianna, Alexis, Rashida, and Renate bring a great deal of experience and leadership to our travel roster," said UofL head coach Dale Cowper. "I am confident they will help us build upon our indoor results from the winter season."
Beery's 3000m time 9:51.46 earned her a third-place finish in the field of 18.
Junior Emma Bryant clocked a personal best time of 2:11.82 to finish sixth in the 800m run and followed with another career-best with a 1500m time of 4:31.47 to place fifth.
Senior Gianna Gaul led a trio of Cardinals competing in the discus, finishing fifth with a throw of 47.54m (156-2). Madelyn Horne was right behind her at 46.99m (154-2) for a sixth place showing in her outdoor debut. Sophomore Katherine Coffey, also competing in her first outdoor discus throw, finished 16th with a mark of 0.95m (134-4).
In the shot put, senior Rashida Harris finished ninth with a mare of 15.45m (50-8.25).
On the men's side, freshman Trey Allen placed third in the high jump with a leap of 2.10m (6-10.75) in his first outdoor meet. Fellow rookie Jonah Hyde's career-best jump of 2.05m (6-8.75) was good for a sixth-place finish.
In the discus throw, freshman Ethan Alyea posted a mark of 51.73m (169-9) to finish fourth in his collegiate debut.
Sophomore Daniel Fiedler's personal best throw of 14.59m (47-10.5) was good for tenth in the shot put.
