Cardinals Open 2021 Outdoor Season at Auburn's Tiger Track Classic

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville men's and women's track and field teams will kick off the 2021 outdoor season this weekend when the Cardinals travel to Auburn, Alabama for the Tiger Track Classic which will take place March 19-20 at the Auburn's Hutsell-Rosen Track.

About Louisville Track and Field
After the 2020 outdoor season was canceled due to the spread of COVID-19, the Cardinals returned to action for the 2021 indoor season. The women posted a top-20 finish in the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships which included a national title in the women's weight throw and three All-Americans.
For the men, Sterling Warner-Savage earned first team All-America honors in the 60m.
As they move to the outdoor season, the Cardinal men return an NCAA Outdoor Championship qualifier and three all-ACC performers. Albert Kosgei represented the Cardinals in the NCAA 3000m steeplechase, earning USTFCCCA All-American honors. He joins Aaron Johnson, who was a second-team all-ACC performer in the decathlon and Luke Nichols, an all-conference first team performer in the high jump.
For the women, Forrest, a 2019 All-American in the hammer throw and honorable mention in the discus. In addition to Forrest, the Cardinals are 2019 NCAA Outdoor Championship qualifiers Ivine Chemutai (10,000m) Gabriela Leon (pole vault). All-ACC performers Alexis Gibbons (long jump) and Rashida Harris (shot put)
