Softball Hosts Batter Up! Brunch

The University of Louisville softball team welcomes softball fans and supporters to the 2022 Batter Up! Brunch which will take place January 30 in the Hickman Camp Room at the KFC Yum! Center.

The program fundraiser will begin two hours prior to the Cardinals' nationally-ranked women's basketball team's ACC matchup against Duke which is slated to tip-off at either 12 p.m. or 4 p.m. – the time will be announced in January.

This year's event will serve as an opportunity for fans to meet head coach Holly Aprile and the 2022 squad as they prepare for the upcoming season.

The $20 admission fee includes appetizers, drinks (non-alcoholic), player and coach meet-and-greet, poster, autographs, face painting and a photo booth as well as admission to UofL's game against the Blue Devils. Those unable to attend the basketball game may purchase brunch tickets for $15.

"After taking a year off due to COVID-19 protocols, we are excited to resume the Batter Up! Brunch," said Aprile. "This is a great event and chance for our softball family to connect and get to know each other before we gear up for an exciting season."

About Louisville Softball:
Louisville returns 15 players from last year's team including National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-Southeast Region and All-ACC selections Carmyn Greenwood and Taylor Roby. Among the returners are 12 upperclassmen including seven seniors and five juniors, as well as senior transfer Hannah File (James Madison) and graduate transfer Kendall Smith (Western Kentucky).
