Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET at Dr. Mark & Cindy Lynn Stadium.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville men's soccer program plays its final non-conference match of the season on Tuesday night at Dr. Mark & Cindy Lynn Stadium as the Cardinals play host to Oakland. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET and will be televised on ACC Network Extra.
ABOUT THE CARDINALS
Aboubacar Camara scored twice in the final four minutes on Friday night to lift the Cardinals to a 2-0 victory over North Carolina. Camara took advantage of a turnover in the box and broke a scoreless tie in the 87th minute before putting the game on ice in the 89th.
Louisville has tallied consecutive shutouts for the second time this season after clean sheets against Eastern Illinois and North Carolina last week. The Cardinals are aiming for their third straight shutout for the first time since Sept. 30-Oct. 17, 2017 when they kept the opponent off the scoreboard in five straight matches.
SERIES HISTORY
Louisville and Oakland are meeting for the first time on Tuesday night. The Cardinals are 17-28-5 all-time against current members of the Horizon League, including a 4-0 victory over Northern Kentucky earlier this season.
CAMARA TURNING IN ONE OF BEST SEASONS ALL-TIME AT UOFL
Aboubacar Camara is in the midst of a special season at Louisville, tallying 12 goals through the first 13 matches of the season. The forward is putting together one of the top seasons by anyone to wear the UofL uniform:
CAMARA, FONSECA FORM TOP-SCORING DUO
Aboubacar Camara and Pedro Fonseca have been one of the top 1-2 punches in the country this season. The Louisville forwards are currently the top scoring pair in the ACC and the country.
The duo has combined for 19 goals and six assists this fall with Camara leading the ACC in points and Fonseca ranking second and the two sitting first and fourth in goals, respectively.
LOUISVILLE PUTTING ON IMPRESSIVE OFFENSIVE DISPLAY
After a slow start to the season offensively, the Cardinals have gone on a scoring binge over the last month. Louisville tallied just five goals over the first four matches of the season, going 2-2-0 over that stretch. However, the Cardinals found the net 21 times in their next five matches, securing their first five-match winning streak since September of 2016.
Louisville put nine goals on the board in consecutive wins over Syracuse and Northern Kentucky, and then again in victories over Boston College and Western Illinois, the most in a two-match stretch since scoring 12 in matches against Asbury (10) and Transylvania (2) during the 1987 season.
The Cardinals currently lead the ACC and the country at 2.77 goals per match, and lead the ACC with 15 goals through six conference matches. UofL also leads the ACC and is second in the country with 36 goals and is first in the ACC and seventh nationally with 7.00 corner kicks per match.
