Getting to Know Josh Howard-Tripp

The University of Louisville men's tennis program will open the 2021 season on Wednesday. The Cardinals will feature a roster of seven returners and three newcomers. Introducing Josh Howard-Tripp, a junior transfer from the University of Arkansas.

What individual athletic accomplishments did you have in high school and at Cambridge College?
"I was Top 80 Junior in the World, competed in the Junior Australian Open, won the Curro ITF, won the Namibian Open and was a finalist in the Prague open in doubles."
What other sports did you play in high school?
I played rugby, soccer and hockey.
What do you want to do after college?
"Play professional tennis.
Proudest moment of your life?
Being named the No. 1 player in Africa.
What are your favorite sports teams?
The Chicago Bulls and Kansas City Chiefs.
Who is your favorite athlete?
Roger Federer.
What is your perfect pizza?
Any pizza with pineapple
What is your favorite musical group/singer?
Drake

Just the love of playing tennis motivates me to do the best I possibly can in it.
What has been your greatest challenge to overcome:
Being myself and having to deal with my problems without my parents being able to help.
Why you chose UofL:
The campus looked awesome, the coaches are really invested and looking to build a great program and I want to help with that as much as possible. The team is filled with really great guys and I like the vibe of Louisville. Being in a city it gives me a little more of a home feeling.
