The University of Louisville's Clement Filho has been named an Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholar for men's tennis as announced by Diverse: Issues in Higher Education magazine.
Filho was a senior in eligibility in 2020 after earning his bachelor's degree in communications in 2019. The native of Paris, France is a four-year letterwinner. When the 2020 season came to a halt due to COVID-19, Filho had tallied nine singles wins, including three in dual match victories. He has elected to utilize an extra season of eligibility granted by the NCAA for the 2020-21 season
Diverse: Issues In Higher Education sponsors the annual Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholar Awards edition as to recognize outstanding minority young men and women who have distinguished themselves in their academic and athletic pursuits. In addition to their athletic ability, students named 2020 Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholars must maintain a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.5, be at least a sophomore academically, and be active on their campuses or in their communities.
