Catching up with Rebecca Chung

The University of Louisville softball team is continuing its series of check-ins throughout the summer. Up next is catcher Rebecca Chung.

The catcher from Torrance, California was named to the 2019 ACC All-Freshman Team and finished her first full season with the Cardinals with six home runs and 35 RBIs. Her walk-off double with two outs in the bottom of the seventh to lift the Cards to a 10-9 win over No. 3/3 Florida State on April 8, 2019. She also set a school record with four runners caught stealing in that game.
In the shortened 2020 campaign, Chung played in 16 games with 15 starts before the season ended on March 12 prior to Louisville's ACC-opening series against Boston College.

What do you like best (or miss) about Louisville?
I miss how quiet Louisville is and having my own space. I have a big family so here in Cali its typically busy in my house.

Do you speak multiple languages or have an unusual skill/hobby?
I'm currently learning to speak Chinese.

How do you think your friends would describe you?
Quiet and kind. I can be funny from time to time.
If you could see anyone in concert, who would it be?
Not really sure, but I've heard BTS concerts are fun and really good.
What are some of the top moments/favorite memories from your career so far?
Definitely the Florida State series of 2019, running through the airports as a team to catch flights. And FINALLY beating Northwestern this past (somewhat) season.
If you could play any sport other than softball, what would it be?
