With the 2020 spring semester recently completed, we will continue our player check-in series with the University of Louisville men's tennis team. Next up is rising sophomore James Bell.
As the Cardinals' season ended, Bell had complied a 7-8 overall record in singles. He paired with fellow freshman Matthew Fung in doubles with a perfect record of 3-0. Louisville ended the shortened 2020 campaign with a 9-6 overall record record and a 2-1 mark in ACC play.

How are you communicating with your teammates and coaches?
I am communicating with coaches through WhatsApp.
Do you have a favorite "binge" show or series that you are watching?
Right now I am watching person of interest.
What is your favorite quote, saying or motto?
My favorite saying is something my dad always told me, "No one can tell you what you can or can't do but remember, can't never did anything."
How do you think your friends would describe you?
My friends would probably describe me as funny, goofy, and loyal.
What is your favorite social media platform?
I like Snapchat a lot.
What words of support or encouragement would you send fellow student-athletes?
Stay strong and keep trying to improve even in the circumstances we are faced with.
Who is your favorite athlete and why?
Kobe Bryant due to his work ethic and incredible mindset.
If you could play any sport other than tennis, what would it be?
My favorite moment in my career was getting to play for Louisville.
If you could play any sport other than tennis, what would it be?
I would love to play golf.
