
Cardinals Sit in Eighth Place at the General Hackler

Keegan De Lange stands in a tie for 14th place to pace the Cardinals.
LOUISVILLE, Ky - The University of Louisville men's golf team stands in eighth place after two rounds of the The General Hackler Championship, which is being played at The Dunes Golf and Beach Club in Myrtle Beach.
The Cardinals opened play by shooting a 5-over-par 293, but responded in the second round by carding a 3-under-par to enter the third round of play 12 shots off the lead. North Carolina sits in first place, while Wake Forest is second. Liberty, East Tennessee State and NC State round out the top five.
Senior Keegan de Lange was the top performer for the Cardinals, sitting in a tie for 14th place after 36 holes. He opened the tournament with a 2-under-par 70, but shot a 1-over-par 73 in the afternoon to finish at 1-under par for the two rounds of action.
Teammate Trevor Johnson was steady on the day, shooting an even-par 144 to finish the day in a tie for 19th. He carded a 1-under-par 71 in the morning, and also shot a 73 during the afternoon round.
Junior Matthias Schmid rebounded from an opening round 74 to shoot a 71 during the second 18 holes to finish at 1-over-par for a 29th-place standing heading into Tuesday's round.
Senior John Murphy, the second-ranked player in the ACC, shot an 8-over-par 80 in the morning, but put that behind him with a second-round score of 69 to move up to 49th.
Sophomore Jiri Zuska shot a 6-over-par 150 to sit in a tie for 59th place.Â
