UofL will play four dates this spring
The University of Louisville volleyball team will play four dates as a part of its 2020 spring schedule.
The Cardinals are coming off their best finish ever in the NCAA Championship, when Louisville advanced to the Elite Eight after pulling arguably the biggest upset in tournament history, with a 3-2 win over No. 2-seeded Texas in Austin. UofL, an at-large selection from the ACC, advanced to the Sweet Sixteen after beating Samford in the first round and upsetting intrastate rival Western Kentucky to advance to the Austin Regional.
Â
First on the schedule will be a home match against Tennessee on March 24 at 6 p.m. at the L&N Federal Credit Union Arena. Tennessee finished the regular season with five wins in its last six matches of the regular season. This stretch included three wins in straight-set fashion. The Lady Vols finish tied for seventh in the conference standings at 15-13 overall and 9-9 in the SEC.
Â
The next match is on the road at Dayton on March 28 at the Frericks Center. Dayton was eliminated from national postseason play after a 3-0 (25-23, 25-19, 25-22) loss to 16th-ranked Marquette in first-round action of the 2019 NCAA Tournament. Dayton closed out 2019 with an overall record of 22-9.Â
Â
Louisville will play in a multi-team tournament at the Ohio Valley Volleyball Center on April 4 here in Louisville.
Â
