Chemutai and Kiprop Earn ACC Weekly Honors

Ivine Chemutai and Isaac Kiprop earn ACC recognition after first race of the season
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Atlantic Coast Conference recognized Louisville's Ivine Chemutai and Isaac Kiprop as ACC Cross Country Performers of the Week for September 18. Chemutai was named the Women's Performer of the Week while Kiprop was named the Freshman of the Week.
Chemutai led the Cardinal women with a top-10 finish at the Commodore Classic on Saturday at Vanderbilt. She finished the 6K race with a time of 21:30.1. The sophomore ran an average kilometer time of 3:35.0.
Kiprop was the second finisher for the Cardinals in his first collegiate race as he placed seventh in the Commodore Classic men's 8K. The freshman posted an overall time of 24:36.1, and his average kilometer time was 3:04.5.
The Cardinals will be back in action on Saturday, Oct. 5 at the Greater Louisville Classic at E.P. Tom Sawyer Park.
