Cards and Wildcats will meet again in game seven Sunday evening

The University of Louisville softball team fell 7-0 to host Northwestern in game six of the Evanston Regional Sunday afternoon. The teams will meet again at approximately 7:15 p.m. (ET) to determine who will advance to the Super Regional.

Northwestern (46-11) jumped to an early lead after a sacrifice fly by Jordyn Rudd plated Maeve Nelson in the top of the first inning.

The Wildcats capitalized on three hits, a walk, an error and a hit batter to plate four more runs in the fourth.

Northwestern added a run in the sixth and another in the seventh inning to extend its lead to 7-0.

Senior Megan Hensley (9-4) took the loss after giving up three runs, two earned, on four hits and striking out two in 6.1 innings. Redshirt freshman Taylor Roby and sophomore Maddy Newman each had a hit for the Cardinals (35-22).

Danielle Williams (30-6) picked up the win, holding Louisville scoreless on two hits and striking out 10 in 6.0 innings. Morgan Nelson went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a run to help lead the Wildcats at the plate.
