Morin-Kougoucheff Earns All-ACC Honors

Senior Christopher Morin-Kougoucheff named to the All-ACC third team
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville's Christopher Morin-Kougoucheff was named to the All-ACC third team as announced by the league office on Thursday, marking the third straight season the senior has earned All-ACC honors.
"Chris has been a great leader for us on and off the court and he is the program's first three-time All-ACC player," said UofL head coach Rex Ecarma. "He was battling through an injury and still had some good wins for us. I appreciate my colleagues in the ACC for recognizing this. He will be remembered by our fans for a long, long time."
Despite sitting out the majority of the fall due to injury, Morin-Kougoucheff made his return for the Cardinals in dual match play, compiling six wins at the one-spot throughout the course of the season and earning the No. 115 ranking in the ITA Singles Rankings on April 2..
Two of Morin-Kougoucheff's six victories occurred against ranked competitors, highlighted by a 6-4, 7-6 (7-5) win over then-No. 27 Adria Soriano Barrera in the Cards' 4-0 upset of then-No. 22 Miami. The senior also defeated then-No. 71 Jason Kros of Virginia Tech 6-4, 6-3 on April 12.
In doubles, Morin-Kougoucheff and Fabien Salle appeared in the ITA National Rankings twice throughout the season, earning the No. 90 ranking on April 2 and the No. 87 ranking on April 9. The duo combined for a 12-6 record in dual match action, including 11 wins on court one.
During the Cards' upset of then-No. 41 Georgia Tech in the ACC Tournament, Morin-Kougoucheff and Salle downed the Yellow Jackets' then-No. 61 doubles team of Carlos Divar and Philip Gresk 6-4.
Morin-Kougoucheff concludes his collegiate career with a 71-57 overall record in singles, along with a 79-53 doubles mark.
