Louisville's Zuska Fires a Career-Best Round to Pace the Cardinals to the Lead at the Linger Longer

Jiri Zuska fired a 65 on Friday to take the lead after one round.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Freshman Jiri Zuska fired a career best 65 to pace the University of Louisville men's golf team to the lead after the first round of the Linger Longer Invitational on Friday in Greensboro, Ga.
Collectively, the Cardinals hold a four-shot lead over second place Liberty and North Carolina-Greensboro after firing a 10-under-par 278. Georgia and Ohio State are tied for fourth after carding a 3-under-par 285.
The native of Kladno, Czech Republic, Zuska holds the lead after the first round after firing a 7-under-par to hold a two-shot lead over teammate Matthias Schmid and Marc Boucher of Charlotte, who are tied for second after carding a 67. Zuska's previous best round came on his first collegiate 18 when he fired a 66 at the Louisville Cardinals Challenge in September.
Zuska was sensational tallying eight birdies in his round, including four in the last five holes with two rounds to play.
John Murphy is tied for 20th after his round of 71, while Devin Morley and Trevor Johnson are tied for 50th after their 3-over-75 on Friday.
The Cardinals look to extend their lead when play resumes on Saturday morning.
