LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Three University of Louisville men's golfers finished in the top 10 and the Cardinals placed fifth Sunday at the Seminole Intercollegiate at Golden Eagle Country Club on Sunday.

The Cardinals, who entered the day tied for second place, were in contention until the last four holes to finish the day four shots behind Atlantic Coast Conference foe Wake Forest, which won the tournament by one stroke over Florida State – another ACC opponent.

The Cardinals shot 289-280-286=855 to finish at 9-under-par for the two-day event.

Jiri Zuska posted his career-best finish by tying for third shooting a 6-under-par 70-68-72=210 to finish just two shots behind co-champions Parker Gilliam of Wake Forest and Thomas Thurloway of Jacksonville. Zuska bettered his previous best finish of 10that the Old Town Invitational in the fall..

Matthias Schmid and John Murphy were also top-10 finishers, placing in a tie for sixth place at 3-under-par. Schmid was steady over the two-day event, carding a 73-68-72=213, while Murphy battled back from a first-round score of 76 to shoot a 70 and 67.

Devin Morley shot a 7-over-par 72-74-77=223 to tie for 50th, while Trevor Johnson, who played as an individual, was also tied for 50thafter firing a 74-77-72=223.

Simon Zach tied for 60thafter his total of 74-79-75=228.
