Cardinals Achieve Stellar Results in the Classroom

Field hockey posts a 3.528 team GPA in the fall marking the 18th straight semester with a GPA of 3.0 or better
While producing a historic 2019 season on the field, the University of Louisville field hockey team also excelled in the classroom in the fall semester with a 3.528 team GPA.

The Cardinals' fall results mark the 18th straight semester with a collective GPA of 3.0 or better and the second-highest in program history, just short of the 2019 spring semester's mark of 3.529. Five student-athletes: AnnMarie Habelow, Sam Minrath, Mercedes Pastor, Camryn Pichea and Meghan Schneider posted a 4.0 GPA, matching a program-high set in the 2011 and 2012 seasons.

Additionally, 23 players will be named to the Athletic Director's Honor Roll after posting a GPA of 3.0 or better while 18 qualified for Red & Black Scholar status with a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or better. Seven players: Elizabeth Allgeier, Carter Ayars, Alli Bitting, AnnMarie Habelow, Mercedes Pastor, Meghan Schneider and Madison Walsh earned Chi Alpha Sigma honors with a cumulate GPA of 3.4 or better.

Redshirt junior goalkeeper Hollyn Barr received her undergraduate degree in English with a minor in linguistics.

About Louisville Field Hockey
The 2019 Cardinals posted a 16-6 overall record, tying a program mark for wins and earned the overall No. 4 seed in the NCAA tournament, serving as a host site for the first time in program history. Louisville also made its first foray into the NCAA quarterfinals after defeating Michigan 2-1 in double-overtime in its first-round matchup.

UofL finished the season at No. 5 in the NFHCA Coaches poll after reaching as high as No. 5. The Cardinals spent the last 10 weeks of the season ranked among the top 10 in the nation.
