The annual competition gets underway Monday morning at Cardinal Stadium.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The teams and schedule for the 2019 University of Louisville baseball Omaha Challenge have been announced following Friday's player draft inside the Omaha Room at Jim Patterson Stadium.
The 14th annual competition begins on Monday morning with the shuttle run at Cardinal Stadium, following by paintball in the afternoon.
Juniors Zach Britton (Black Team) and Ben Bianco (Red Team) were named team captains for this year's edition of the Omaha Challenge. Following Monday's events, the competition continues Tuesday with the squat test before dodgeball, tug-o-war and truck push events on Thursday. The first week concludes with the tire flip on Friday and the bike race Saturday.
After a day off on Sunday, the Omaha Challenge resumes Monday morning with the 100-meter swim with the towel hang and 400-meter run in the afternoon. It then concludes on Tuesday with the medley.
Following the competition, team and individual winners will be crowned by Louisville head coach Dan McDonnell.

ABOUT THE OMAHA CHALLENGE
Soon after being hired to lead the Cardinals, McDonnell introduced an intense test of physical and mental stamina during his first fall at the University of Louisville with what he refers to as the Omaha Challenge. Two captains are selected and teams are drafted to compete against one another in a series of events testing the athleticism of the teams and the individuals, with a team crown and an individual champion to be named at the conclusion. Sports performance coach Zach Farrel oversees the intense competition, while also motivating his charges to extend themselves to their limits.
