LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Louisville women's lacrosse head coach Scott Teeter announced that the captains for the 2020 season will be juniors Caroline Blalock, Ally Hall and Alex McNicholas, along with senior Brenna Shanahan.

It marks the second straight season that Blalock and Shanahan will serve as captains.
Â
Entering Teeter's third season at the helm, the Cardinals still feature a youthful roster that includes nine juniors and two seniors.

Shanahan came to Louisville from Canisius with Teeter two years ago. She played in just four games her first season in the Derby City after suffering a season-ending knee injury and redshirted. Last season, she was named IWLCA Academic Honor Roll after ranking fifth in the ACC with 1.4 caused turnovers per game. She also ranked second on the team with 26 caused turnovers.

Last season, she was named ACC All-Academic Team and her 23 caused turnovers ranked third on the team, eighth in the ACC and tied for 10th in UofL single season history.
Â
Hall was named ACC All-Academic Team last season after ranking second on the team with 28 goals, 12 assists and 40 points. She finished the year with five hat tricks, which tied for second on the team.
Â
McNicholas was named ACC All-Academic team after ranking second on the team with 49 draw controls and ranked fourth on the team with 23 goals and fifth with 25 points. As a freshman, she led the team with 57 draw controls.
