
Cardinals Tie for the Overall Lead After Big Second Round

EWA BEACH, O'ahu– Devin Morley of the University of Louisville men's golf team fired a 4-under-68 in the second round to move into a tie for third place on Tuesday at the inaugural Hoakalei Country Club Invitational on the island of O'ahu.
The Cardinals, who started the day in fifth place at 3-under-par, fired the low round of the day by shooting an 11-under-par 277 to tie for the overall lead with East Tennessee State at 14-under-par.
UofL will go for their third-straight tournament win when play resumes at 8 a.m. on Wednesday morning, Mississippi is in third place at 12-under-par, while San Diego is fourth at 9-under-par and Nevada is fifth at 5-under.
Playing as an individual, Morley was steady all day, carding four birdies and playing a bogey-free round of golf. He enters the final round just one shot off the lead with 18 holes to play.
Entering the second round in a tie for 25th, Trevor Johnson tied for the team lead with a 68 to move into a tie for eighth place at 5-under-par. The senior carded six birdies on the day, closing out the front nine with birdies at No. 8 and No. 9.
Keegan de Lange moved into 11th place after his round of 70, while teammate Jiri Zuska also shot a 70 to stand in a tie for 16th place. After a 74 on Monday, Matthias Schmid rounded into form by shooting a 3-under-par 69 to jump up to 24th place.
John Murphy is in a tie for 50th place after shooting a 73 on Tuesday to slip to 2-over-par after 36 holes,
