
Men's Golf Looks to Continue Momentum at the Bank of Tennessee

The Cardinals are coming off their first tournament win.
LOUISVILLE. Ky. - The University of Louisville men's golf team, coming off its first win of the fall, looks to continue its successful fall season when it plays in the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate held at the Blackthorn Club at the Ridges in Jonesborough, Tenn.
No. 8 Louisville faces a competitive tournament field as nine of the 15 team-field are ranked in the top-100 of the latest Golfweek ratings, including seven in the top-50.
The Cardinals shot a 37-under-par to defeat Arkansas, the SEC defending champion, by 26 strokes to win the Bearcat Invitational. It was the first tournament win for the Cardinals since capturing the Old Town Club Collegiate in Winston-Salem during the fall season last year.

Louisville and  Arkansas were the only two teams to finish under par this week. The Cardinals had four players finish among the top eight to win the event with a score of 815 (-37).
John Murphy won his first tournament title in impressive fashion with a score of 196 (-17) and teammate Matthias Schmid was second at 199 (-14). Kentucky finished third, 13 strokes behind Arkansas, with a total of 854 (+2). Penn State (855 and host Cincinnati (859) rounded out the top five.

Along with Murphy and Schmid, Keegan de Lange, Jiri Zuska, Trevor Johnson, and Devin Morley will take the course for the Cardinals.
