Cardinal Throwers Set for the Illini Invitational on Saturday

Louisville will compete in throw events at the Illini Invitational
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Throwers from the University of Louisville men's and women's track and field team will be traveling to Champaign, Ill. For the Illini Invitational on Saturday.
The Illini Invitational will feature teams such as hosts Illinois, Illinois State, and Indiana State. For the Cardinals, the meet will open with the women's weight throw at 11:00 a.m. and feature Carsen Cassell, Makenli Forrest, and Halee Hudson. The last event of the day for Louisville will be at 3:30 p.m., featuring Cade Richeson and Christian Buckley in the men's shot put.
Louisville is coming off a meet win at Notre Dame which saw three of this weekend's competitors take home wins in their events. Forrest took the title in women's weight throw, setting a personal best with a throw of 21.72m/71-3.25. Mitchell Kessler also set a personal best in the weight throw on the men's side, throwing for 17.87m/58-7.50.
Rashida Harris was the top finisher in the women's shot put for the Cardinals with a throw of 15.29m/50-2. Buckley took third place overall for men's shot put last weekend with a throw of 17.14m/56-3.
