Mizrahi finishes the tournament with a 3-0 mark in singles
The University of Louisville men's tennis team picked up four wins on the final day of the Greater Cincinnati Collegiate Classic Saturday in Mason, Ohio.
In doubles, freshmen Juan Paredes and David Mizrahi teamed to beat Xavier's Matthew Graft and Connor Lafavre 6-4.
In singles Mizrahi picked up his third straight victory of the weekend, defeating Dayton's Spencer Richey 6-3, 6-2. Paredes bested Northern Kentucky's Felipe Hidalgo 6-4, 6-2 and junior Fredrik Moe beat Case Western's Matthew Chen 6-3, 5-7, 10-7.
"Pressure does one out of two things: it busts pipes or makes diamonds. We didn't have any busted pipes, but definitely a future diamond in David if he keeps the progression going," said UofL assistant coach Jakob Gustafsson. "All the players out there will develop a lot through the next few months. It was a good opening tournament to figure out where we are and where we need to get to. Now we have a few weeks to address the areas needed and I know we will come out even stronger the next time up."
