
Hoover, Howell Named to IWLCA Senior All-Star Game

Hoover and Howell will play for the South and the game will take place on Saturday, June 2.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The IWLCA announced today that Madison Hoover and Emily Howell of University of Louisville women's lacrosse have been named to the 2018 IWLCA Senior All-Star Game. Â
The 44 players selected in each Division have been divided into two teams: North and South. Hoover and Howell will compete for the South.
The Senior All-Star games will be held on Tierney Field at US Lacrosse Headquarters in Sparks, Md. on Saturday, June 2, 2018. The Division I teams will play the first game at 11:30 am, the Division II game will follow at 1:00 pm, and the Division III teams will cap off the event with their game at 2:30 pm. Admission for all three games is free of charge. The games will also be web-streamed live on IWLCA-tv.com.
Hoover appeared in 15 games, all starts, and led the team with 14 assists, while ranking third with 23 goals and 37 points. She had a career-high four goals and six points, along with two assists and four ground balls, at Vanderbilt on Feb. 27.
She finished her career at Louisville with 38 goals and 37 assists.
Howell led the ACC in ground balls per game, scooping up 2.88 each contest. The senior led the Cardinals with 46 total ground balls this season and her 128 career ground balls rank third in program history. Her 1.06 caused turnovers per game and her 2.44 draw controls per game ranked second on the team.
Against Boston College, she picked up a career high seven ground balls, which also ties for third most ever recorded by a Cardinal in a single game.
