
Caroline Blalock, Emily Howell Earn All-ACC Honors

Blalock and Howell were both named All-ACC Second Team.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - University of Louisville women's lacrosse's Caroline Blalock and Emily Howell have been named All-ACC second team, the league office announced today.
It marks the third consecutive season that at least two Louisville players have earned All-ACC honors.Â
Blalock leads the Cards in seven statistical categories, including goals with 43 and hat tricks with nine. She ranks second in the league in shots with 6.94 per game, and just outside the top ten in goals per game with 2.69 and points per game with 3.44. She also ranks fourth with 1.50 caused turnovers per game and fifth with 2.56 ground balls per game. She was voted ILWomen National Rookie of the Week following her four-goal performance against Virginia.
Howell ranks second in the ACC in ground balls per game, scooping up 2.87 each contest. The senior leads the Cardinals with 43 total ground balls this season, and with 125 so far in her career ranks third in program history. Against Boston College, she picked up a career high seven ground balls, which also ties for third most ever recorded by a Cardinal in a single game.Â
Louisville opens ACC Tournament play against No. 1 seed Boston College on Thursday at 11 a.m. ET.
