Caroline Blalock Named ILWomen National Rookie of the Week

Blalock recorded four goals against Virginia for her ninth hat trick of the season.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - University of Louisville lacrosse freshman midfielder Caroline Blalock was voted ILWomen National Rookie of the Week following her four-goal performance last Saturday against Virginia.

Blalock was one of four finalist for the award and received 40 percent of the votes to earn the honor.

In the game against the Cavaliers, she finished with four goals, two ground balls and two draw controls.

The freshman from Ellicott City, Md., leads the Cardinals in seven statistical categories, including goals with 41 and hat tricks with nine.

Her offensive firepower ranks her second in the league in shots with seven per game, ninth in goals per game with 2.73 and 10th in points per game with 3.53. She also ranks fourth with 1.53 caused turnovers per game and fifth with 2.60 ground balls per game.
