
Track and Field Hosts the Louisville Invitational on Friday

Cardinals will host Michigan State, Purdue and Notre Dame at Cardinal Park
LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The University of Louisville track and field teams will host Purdue, Michigan State, and Notre Dame at the Louisville Invitational Friday.Â

Women's hammer will kick off the meet at 11:00 a.m. at the throws field with men's hammer to follow.Â
Â
Competition will move to Cardinal Park at 12:45 p.m. with the women's shot put and running events will begin at 2:00 p.m. with the women's 3,000 meter steeplechase. Â

The meet is set to conclude after the men's 4x400 meter relay at 5:45 p.m.Â

The Cardinals look to take advantage of warmer weather to build on last week's performances at the Crimson Tide Invitational where they brought in three wins and a school record.Â

Teague Peck won the 800 meter run with a time of 1:53.42 while teammate Marcus Jegede won the long jump with a leap of 7.14m/23'5 ¼". Senior Aurilla Wilson snagged a win on the women's side with a personal best time of 4:35.08 in the 1500 meter run.Â

Freshman Donald McClinton broke a  nine year-old school record in the 200 meter dash with a time of 21.39.Â
